Delphi Full Day Private Tour From Athens

On this trip to the Sanctuary of Delphi , where you will enjoy a majestic and imposing landscape with its spectacular mountains, passing by the area of the tragic Thebes, to the slopes of Mount Parnassus. Under two gigantic boulders, the Phaedriades, impressive on a cliff of Mount Parnassus, was founded in antiquity the famous oracle of Delphi, where he was worshipped Apollo, god of harmony and music, guardian of the sacred laws of Zeus. In ancient Greece, Deplpi was the center of the world, the so-called ''navel'' of the Earth. Continuing up the mountain slope, you will see the Ancient Theatre and above the Ancient Stadium where the Pythian Games were hosted. Below these areas are the Sanctuary of Athena Pronaia, the Gymnasium and Castalian spring. You will visit the Archaeological Museum in Delphi, one of the most important in Greece in its specialty. Among its collection, is the famous statue of the Charioteer of Delphi, which represents a young driver of a horse, perfectly preserved, dating from archaic times and forming part of a bronze votive offering representing the victorious chariot of the Pythian Games of the year 474 B.C. Currently, Delphi is a small resort town situated on the slopes of Mount Parnassus, with a stunning view of the valley and the sea. You will have free time to stroll along its streets, enter their fascinating shops and have lunch at a local restaurant.
